I firmly believe that securing the acquittal of a wrongly accused person or overturning the verdict of a wrongly convicted on in no way can be considered justice having been served in many cases. Where misconduct has occurred, someone walking free does not eradicate the pain and suffering inflicted upon them and their families as a result, for them the damage will last a lifetime while if the perpetrators of such misconduct are not held to account remain capable of inflicting the same torment on others in future. With regard to wrongly accused people, this misconduct will be seen only as grounds for appeal should they be acquitted but not grounds for action to be taken against those responsible. Since anyone who has behaved in anyway other than proper are unlikely to be reprimanded as a result, there is nothing to dissuade them from doing so again in future. Do you know of any other area in society where those who do not follow specific rules and guidelines are not disciplined for their actions?
I have therefore decided to post not only another opinion poll, but use the same thread to post details of where you can send formal complaints against anyone you know has not acted in accordance with the responsibilities their positions determine they should. Taking action against such a person is the only way to ensure that they at least are held to account and possibly will result in measures being taken against them which would prevent someone else from suffering in future.
As with the case of child interviews being video recorded, if nothing untoward goes on within the justice system, why would anyone fear disciplinary action regardless of how successful or otherwise their attempts to influence justice were?
