How children and vulnerable witnesses are interviewed in this country is an absolute disgrace. Guidelines which exist not only nationally but also reiterated internationally are frequently bent, broken or downright ignored. The longterm effects of this on the very people we are supposed to protect the most is catastrophic leading to severe psychological problems or worse - suicide. How can anyone in a "civilised" society stand back and allow this to go on?
