Corruption and malpractice are common features in many miscarriages of justice and can also lead to guilty people escaping prosecution. There are a great many documented cases which highlight the many professionals who have been exposed and have brought the justice system into disrepute as a result. These professions are not limited to those firmly within the justice system itself but also include for example "expert witnesses" and social services. In short the very people we are supposed to be able to rely on to we are all protected from wrong doing.
