Quote from: Bernadette Major
I am the mother of ex p.c. Danny Major. My husband is also a police officer. Danny was framed by his so called work friends for a crime they committed. West Yorkshire police hid 13 hours of CCTV footage that proves that the corrupt men who framed Danny told lies in court and in their statements and therefore perverted the course of justice. West Yorkshire police are fighting as hard as they can to keep this can of dirty worms well and truly closed. The reputation of W.Y.P is going to be destroyed and it is better for them if Danny is sacrificed instead of the truth coming out. I am embarrassed that my husband ( Danny's dad) is a police officer and he too is a broken man he is disgusted at evidence that was hidden. We will never give up until the truth is out, and we will help others too.

I was too late to post this in the forum where the original discussion took place but I was mortified at how fast people are ready to condemn people with out actually knowing the facts of what is really going on, below was my responce to the topic and I hope it will be printed here for all to see.

I am an active campaigner in my brothers case and feel I must express my opinions on the comments that have been left on this site.

Firstly ? I came into contact with Stephanie Hall quite some time ago, through campaigning for my brother. Mrs H is a lovely lady and the support she shows her husband is immense. I think it is a shame that Miss Bon failed to mention Mrs H in her article ? other from her saying that Mrs H doesn't want her at the appeal - which is something that I can't really have an opinion on considering I don't know the ins and outs of Mrs H's request - all I can say is that there must be good reason's for this as I am sure Mr and Mrs H would not shun Miss Bon's support for nothing - when you are serving a life sentence for a crime you didn't commit you take all the support you can get ? so they must have their reasons.

I think Mrs H deserves recognition for the ongoing support and campaigning she does for Simon, not to mention having to be in a certain place, at a certain time, day in day out, waiting for his phone calls and the endless travelling to and from visits. People think the campaigning is the hard part, well I can tell you that it is not. The hard part is visiting your loved one week in, week out, seeing the distress they are going through - not wanting to let them go when you hug them at the end of the visit ? feeling your heart break every single time you have to turn away and leave them in that visiting room ? the constant worry of are they coping ? the constant worry of them being locked away with the most terrible criminals, will they be attacked? Will they be safe? Picking up a newspaper and reading how everyone hates them, coping with the stares and comments. And then there is birthdays and Christmases where you just sit and cry all day because they should be there with you. Do you hear Mrs H talking about the hardships this causes her? No. She paints on her smile and uses every opportunity she gets to spread the word about Simon's plight, not her own.

I think it takes a brave and courageous woman to stand up and say I love this man and he is not a murderer, and how does she prove this to the world? By marrying him in prison ? no doubt she will have made him very, very happy by doing that. Lets give Mrs H the recognition she deserves for being the faithful wife, loyal friend, endless supporter and tireless campaigner that she is to Simon. Lets not forget it is the love of those dearest too you that get you through your darkest days (this is what my brother always tells me)

Secondly ? I have had the privilege of meeting both Sandra and Billy and can honestly say they both need commending for what they do. I was fighting my brothers case alone until Sandra and Billy came along ? and yes they may have stepped in a late stage, but you can't help a case from the beginning if you don't know about it! The fact that they do anything they can to help as soon as they find out about a case should be the biggest point! It does take someone legal to give legal and advice but it takes someone with a heart to offer support!

The fact that Sandra's book is almost identical to Simon's website is because the story stays the same, you are not going to cast doubt on a case by writing a totally different version of events in a book! And we can't cast aside the fact that the book never went to print without the families agreement and editing. The fact she took her time to write about Simon's case and got the word out to hundreds of people by doing this is something we should be praising her for. Sandra made no profit from the book after royalties and being basically ripped off, most of you probably don't this but any profit from the book was to go in a fund for people involved in miscarriage of justice's who can't afford to get things done like forensic testing and so on ? I guess it is the way society is today, they can't believe that someone would do something out of the goodness of their heart, its quite sad really. Sandra and Billy have restored my faith in human nature and they are genuine, I would be more than happy for Sandra to write about my brothers case, and I would be very unhappy if the story didn't match with the story on my brothers website because what is said on there is the truth, we can't condemn a person for giving a truthful version of events.

Both Sandra and Billy came to visit me whilst on their travels, they looked through the case papers (there was a lot). They sat and listened when no one else would. They set up a website for my brother and helped advertise his miscarriage of justice, and before I knew it the support was for the case was flooding in left, right and centre. My brother is now recognised as an official miscarriage of justice and that is thanks to Sandra and Billy. They are helping when no one else will and they never ask for anything in return, they fund their travels with their own money, and they are active campaigner's in more than one case!

So guys it doesn't matter, like I have said, that someone helps at the beginning, middle or toward the end, what matters is the fact they help at all. There are many who could help with miscarriage's of justice and they choose not to, lets give the praise do those who do help and not slate them because they happened to find out about the case at a late stage, I know both Sandra and Billy would have been there from the beginning had they knew. I can never ever thank they enough for what they have done to help my brother.

Would like to wish Billy and Sandra all the best with the new forum.

And for reaching out to all that are suffering injustice.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks Brendan, glad to see you've found the forum on the new server OK.

Mackemlass, sincere thanks for your post and welcome to the forum. I do know of the forum you are referring to, I am shocked and appalled at what has been allowed to go on there. I certainly don't want to go into details, there is no need and it would serve no meaningful purpose. All I can say is, that I am aware of when and how it all started (back in November last year), what led up to it is both petty and pitiful and is of no benefit to anyone fighting injustice.

I think what has disappointed me more is that the moderator of that forum has been aware of these instances and that there are a great many members who I know have contacted him complaining about the poster(s) involved. Yet a site pertaining to be against injustice has allowed unfounded and unjustified allegations and insults to be banded about by a select few whilst removing the very posts various members providing proof that these allegations are untrue on the basis that they name people who can corroborate the evidence provided (even though permission to name was sought first).

All I can say is that it would not be allowed here. Open and rational debate is one thing, there is however enough injustice in this country without allowing supposed miscarriage of justice campaigners to add to it. Ego's, agendas and ulterior motives have no place in the fight against injustice and anyone who chooses to act in such a way, or indeed condones the behaviour of those who do bring only themselves into disrepute.

Once again welcome to the forum and thanks for your support.

Best wishes

Billy

Hi My name i Gerry, I have come on this site to find our information for a family who are absolutely devastated as their brother has just been convicted to 18 years for murder, the general view of the public is that this man did not receive a fair trial. witnessed not called, evidence not used etc. so i want to come on the site and make the first point of contact for the family, this is just what the family need as they don't have a clue how to start the appeal or who to get advice from.

kind regards

Hi Gerry,

Welcome to the forum, I have sent you a PM with contact details so that you can send further information without discussing things publicly in any other way than generally at this stage.

Best wishes
