Admin.  The calender above, is it possible that individual members can enter appeal dates, birthdays, moj events, moj individuals support days etc into it?  If so, how is it done?

The birthdays of members are automatically included on the calendar if the member has chosen to include it in their profile details. Members can enter the dates of other events by clicking on "Post Event" which is below the calendar, but I would say a few things in that respect. Firstly, as with topic titles, the event title should be clear. Dates of appeals etc. are always subject to change and so it would be the responsibility of the member who posts the event to update the event details should they change at the earliest possible time because obviously people may make travel arrangements around them. There are a couple of things I haven't posted for example because of a lack of certainty as to whether or not the dates may alter. Also, though it's unlikely to be an issue on an ongoing basis, I wouldn't be keen on huge numbers of events being entered all at once because to do so would push the topics being discussed off the forum home page. I posted a one for each caseblog last night, the reason being that when links are shared elsewhere supportive comments are often posted underneath them which is great obviously, but those comments are effectively lost hours or even minutes after they are posted as more recent links or status changes are added above them. So while the support is great, unless the comments are left on the sites themselves, the casual onlooker won't see just how much support there is. The consequence of that in terms of the events I posted last night is that half the home page consists of links to those events and the topics recently being discussed have been pushed lower down. They will obviously pop back up again but people will have to go into the main forum index to find some of them, which to new members/casual visitors wouldn't be immediately obvious. If there had been more caseblogs at the time, I would have elected to do them in batches instead over a few days to avoid it.

Thanks for the explanation admin.  I really just meant a private calender all to myself so that I could add stuff relating to wa/wc, birthdays I know of, appeal dates, etc, so they were all in the one place, if that makes sense  ;D

I'm afraid the calendar function an events page rather than a diary type thing. I could probably add a personal members notepad type thing if that would be any use but to try and incorporate it into the calendar functions with permissions etc. well, would probably be quite a bit of work.

Some people may have had difficulty accessing the forum and sites at some point between 10pm and 11pm today. This appears to have been some technical problem external to our server since there are no error logs, or status changes logged. I am continuing to investigate the source of the problem as a precaution in an effort to ensure there is no preventable recurrence but at this stage it appears to have been some relatively localised network issue.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

I received a call today regarding last night's brief outage. It seems that a malicious attempt somewhere within the same 'network neighbourhood' was detected and as a precaution the entire neighbourhood was temporarily blocked whilst the source of it was identified in order to prevent it from making further attempts to access the network.

It has been brought to my attention that Cath O'Hanlon posted the following on the Jengba facebook group.

"JOINT ENTERPRISE NOT GUILTY BY ASSOCIATION (JENGBA)
Wrongly Accused Person - advertising The Sun on Sunday on their site?? Surely that was the rag that put most of the wrongly accused away! Check the adverts ......"

I wouldn't ordinarily do this but I feel that since I know how many people suffering from injustice in various forms feel about the Sun I need to respond. What Cath is saying is manipulative, devisive and a complete distortion of the facts, the very things which angered people about the publication, she is doing herself.

Wrongly Accused Person does display Google ads on it's site, it does so to fund in part (it doesn't cover it all) hosting sites like Jordan Towers's, Jordan Cunliffe's, Wesley Porter's etc (Joint Enterprise cases which she purportedly supports). Google decides what is displayed in those ads, partly based on site content and partly based on the internet trend of the VIEWER.

The fact is, if Cath O'Hanlon was displayed a Sun advertisement when she visited Wrongly Accused Person, it is more likely that it was displayed because she herself has visited the Sun's website at some point than it is to be as a result of any content on Wrongly Accused Person and it certainly isn't anything to do with any selection either me or anyone else at Wrongly Accused Person have made.

I've spoken many times about the need to work together, and as I said in my post I wouldn't ordinarily post about it but I'm afraid that needed responded to. If there is any attempt to do anything other than be united against injustice, it most certainly won't be coming from me. I left the Jengba group on facebook, not because I don't support the people unjustly convicted using Joint Enterprise as a weapon but because of precisely that type of nonsense. All it means is I'm not supportive of people spending more time bickering and twisting facts about other genuinely supportive people and organisations than they do actually helping the people who need it, I can't support that.

A necessary modification to the way the server handles session data may mean that members have been logged out. There shouldn't be any issues logging back in again, but if you do have any problems, let me know and I'll look into it.

With thanks to one of our members for bringing the following to our attention, I am happy to say that there is now another way in which you can help raise funds for Wrongly Accused Person without spending a penny or indeed doing anything other than what most do, probably almost daily if not several times per day.

Most, if not all, searches you do on the internet earns money for someone. It doesn't really matter whether the search engine is yahoo, google, msn or any of the other major and most oft used search engines, each search you perform will include some form of paid advertising. Now, simply by using Wrongly Accused Person's easysearch page as your search provider, thanks to easyfunding.org.uk a significant portion of the revenue generated will benefit WAP. Not only that, but it pools results from more than one search engine so you may find that some searches return improved results but on the whole they are likely to be broadly similar to what you would get anyway.

So, simply by using our allocated page for all your searches, the average person could generate, according to their figures, around £20 per year without doing anything you wouldn't be doing anyway. The only real difference to you would be that you'd be doing your searches on a page which benefits WAP rather than one which doesn't.

If you set this - http://wap.easysearch.org.uk/ - as your homepage, or add it to your favourites so you can access it easily, every search you do will benefit WAP by some small amount. £20 per year may not seem like a lot, but the cumulative effect of all members doing it is obvious. If you took that a step further, and suggested it to friends and relatives too, the effect you would have would obviously be multiplied by the number of people who go on to use it.

So it would be greatly appreciated if you would do nothing more than use this page to search the internet - http://wap.easysearch.org.uk/
