I too would like to welcome Frank to the forum. It's always good to see the numbers growing so that each needy member can be surer to find someone with similar experiences to their own and hence more support.

While most who find themselves at a loss for words with the justice system initially believe they are largely alone and that no-one else understands, at least today they are soon able to see miscarriages of justice are not infrequent and that there is somewhere to turn.

Too often unfortunately people who face injustice are beaten, the system grinds them down to such an extent they give in and give up. Of course many of them are still inside and when they do get released there in a fight to rebuild something we call a life - almost impossible I know but many do try. Its the friends and families who are left to pick the pieces up - lost as to what to do and where to turn.

Can they believe it can happen? DOnt you believe it, all the damn time every day there are more being added to the list an ever growing list

I do think the tide is very much turning. Largely in many respects thanks to the internet of today. It is no longer as easy for things to be kept from public knowledge as it has been up until now, if someone knows about it, it'll get posted on some site somewhere and seen by many. Facebook for example contains an ever growing list of cases, most linked to each other and members of one another's support groups, if any of them have any important/relevant news they all soon know about it.

Is it coincidence that the day after I posted a video clip of the DPP's prior comments on Simon Hall's case on facebook, everyone on my friends list (which includes many of the cases I just mentioned) contracted the koobface virus? Equally though it is possible it was an attempt to stop the rolling stone, if so very ineffective, I'm still here chatting away spreading the word and encouraging those who need and deserve it.

Hi Ann74,

Welcome to the Wrongly Accused Person Forum though sadly as is often the case sorry for your reasons for finding it necessary to use it. Although we have seen your other post we have decided to contact you through private message since more information would be required before we could offer any worthwhile advice or suggestions which obviously shouldn't be discussed in the public forum.

Best Regards

Billy

Thanks for that Ann, messages like these mean a lot to us.

In fairness to other groups, these are not rare isolated incidents and speaking only for ourselves we are certainly kept very busy.

There are some who seem to be all about high profile cases and have nothing to do with those who are not. Then there are some who support anybody and everybody regardless of innocence which as you will understand is completely different, as such they can't possibly hope to keep up and do justice to those who truly deserve it.

We do endeavour to respond to all communications whichever way they reach us. You should have received a private message which you can access by clicking on the envelope icon on the right hand side underneath your profile image if you have not already done so. You can either respond directly to that which is probably easier, or to admin@wronglyaccusedperson.org.uk directly and we can take it from there.

In the meantime, do post general queries etc on the forum, I'm sure our regular members will be happy support you.

hi all ,
i am a new member to the site my son is serving a 20year + sentence for a murder he did not commit we are finding it very difficult to come to terms with and the legal system is just a nightmare.
i have joined in the hope that we can get some good advice as to how we can fight this unjust sentence .
so far have found it akin to walking on shifting sand and we are sinking lower each day.

we will never accept this sentence as my son did not do this but to get an appeal up and running is so far been a non starter .

Hi Louise and welcome to the site.

It would be great to have more information regarding your sons case and if you have any web/facebook site that has more of the details.

Hi Louise and welcome to the forum,

Like gordo says, it would be good to have more information and I'm sure members would be only too happy to offer suggestions and support.

Please do feel free to start a topic specifically for your son in the following board along with links to any websites with more details.

Hi everyone, I just came across the site a couple of days ago and I'm taking my time to familiarise myself with it by reading the threads and related posts, (and knowing me I will read each and every one of them over time :).  All cases are individual and unique in their own way but the common bond we all share is wrongful accusations which can turn the lives of the accused and their families upside down.  :(

People need to keep an open mind and realise that miscarriages of justice can and do happen, (much more often than the public could imagine).

Being wrongly accused is the start of a living nightmare and for some can quickly spiral out of control with devastating results.  :(  I wish you all the best of luck in your journeys and hope that your situations are resolved and you get the outcome you are hoping for.

Take care and stay strong x

Hi Havehope,

Welcome to the forum. Your choice of username along with your post is indeed a very fitting message to both members and visitors alike.

Take as long as you need to read through, there are quite a few pages!

You may even want to consider starting a topic in the success stories thread about your partner's case. That is of course a matter of choice for both you and your partner to make.

Once again welcome to the forum, I look forward to seeing your contributions  :)

I must say HaveHope  I would love to hear just how you and your partner managed to get through this particular time as so very little is available to those once they have been released and their innocence ascertained.

I must admit I'm a bit of a stickler for success stories but I believe that  they play a great part in the case's that are still to be decided upon.
