well yes and that should of been the only pair they wanted of what intest would another pair of his trainers be to them.

The trainers on his feet should have been the ones they were interested in, as that was what he should have been wearing when at close proximity to where the victim was, according to his version of events that night he left AW's house with AW and JaJ, he went over the wall after Mia reacted near the V, Luke having gone over first.

IF it was the trainers he had on that they wanted I can imagine him whinging that he would be left in socks but I cant imagine at the start of a murder inquiry, one or two policeman would have been giving lifts to people to get a spare pair of footwear for them to wear, especially when there is a car at the front door belonging to AO, who could have given him a lift, or other extended members of the Jones family who could have taken him, in their car, and especially as there is a murderer on the loose.  So, why would the police be going to SK's fathers house for trainers?  I hope Sandra finds that statement and puts me out of my misery.

Thank you everyone for answering my questions and all the welcomes.

I spoke about Luke's case in university today as part of a presentation. I also handed out information including the fliers and the forum address, all of my class were shocked and were determined to investigate more so hopefully the word will continue to be spread along  :)

Well done mrsbrightside  :-^  In my opinion, Lukes caseblog is the best place to start for anyone interested in the facts of the case (it will recieve updates so best to check back regularly).  Lukes thread provides plenty of information and facts relating to the case, as well as thoughts and opinions from forum members.  I hope that your classmates do take the time to research this case with an openmind.  I would be interested to hear their views, so hopefully a few of them will join us in discussions on the forum in the near future.   :)

Thank you for that mrsbrghtside :-^ It is amazing the amount of people who have no idea something like this happens to ordinary, law abiding people so the more who know the better!!The majority of people think we have a perfect justice system..............how wrong they are!

I felt I had to say something, although I'm on an Event Management course and not anything really helpful like Law! I feel this injustice could happen to anyone, and as people of around Luke's age it's really hard to imagine what it must be like to have all these years taken away from you.

Corinne no need for thanks, after reading all of this I feel like I have to do something. Especially as I remember being 16(ish) when the case was in court and I thought then Luke was innocent, to think I have gone through years of school, travel and uni and he has had none of this makes me sick - their were many doubts before the case even went to trial and he is still no further forward.

HaveHope I will refer my classmates to the caseblog, and I'm sure they will have a lot to contribute in the future.

Mrsbrightside, it is my belief that it is mr and mrs average, first and foremost, that is needed to get behind those protesting their innocence, and help raise awareness of individual cases.  The majority of people will probably have no interest as they may think that there is no smoke without fire, they believe that the justice system is working, they wouldnt think for a minute that they would ever find themselves in a position of being wrongly accused and convicted of a serious crime. People only need to google miscarriage of justice victims, and the search results will give them food for thought. The lost years that the innocent person and their families lose, can never be replaced.  Till their innocence is proven they are stuck in limbo.  You are so right when you say "this injustice could happen to anyone".  At any given time it could be any one of us who were to find themselves in a similar situation.  A very scary thought.

Ditto on that Havehope! 9 years ago I was your typical Mrs Average! I wasn't interested in anything to do with the law as I never needed to. I was a law abiding citizen and I brought my boys up the same way. Neither of them had ever been in trouble and both had a cirlce of friends from the same backgrounds. Never, in my wildest imagination, did I think we would be in the position we are now. Even when the whole nightmare started, and when we were actually arrested I still didn't didn't panic too much because all the time I was thinking, it's okay, we have done nothing wrong, this will get sorted. Mr & Mrs Average have to be aware that it DOES happen and it will continue to happen. Basically, every single one of us should have an alibi for every second, of every minute of every day.....and have that alibi corroberated!...........or.................................

Ah no it's OK the judge will give you a free pass on that corroboration stuff, just as long as you're motoring around in a dwalm looking for non-existent houses, in an area you don't know, because it's maybe ten minutes walk from your house.
Oh, and spotting the odd dodgy-looking man and woman that you just know are going to be involved in a horrible crime.
But nobody else. And nobody saw you. Especially the house-sellers.

The Daily Record just don't leave it alone do they?

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/2012/02/04/outrage-after-band-play-gig-for-some-of-scotland-s-most-notorious-killers-86908-23734775/

So the prisoners saved their money and paid a young up and coming band to play for them, this money then went to local charities. Yet the story is spun out to instill more hate and anger in the public. Terrible, lazy and extremely amateurish journalism!

So typical of the Daily Record.  ::)  As I said on my comment, if Luke Mitchell was not serving a sentence in Shotts, we would never have heard of this charity event.  Prisons across the country do great work and raise much needed funds for various charities which prisoners get involved with, but the public dont get to hear about it.

Oh dear.....Amy Divine raises her dumbass little  head ...........again. Seriously, I am really worried about this girls obsession with my son !!!!!This is the same story teller who came into my shop several years ago and asked about a fight I had with Luke in prison on the previous Sunday......I assured her we did not have a fight and I have never been to the prison on a Sunday.....next day headline read " Mum youre a slag and it's your fault I'm in prison" !!!!!! This wee girl has serious mental health problems and lives in fantasy land.......please God......don't ever let her breed !!!!!

I saw Luke on Thursday and he never mentioned anything about the gig, He phones on a Sunday so I'll ask him then, and even if he did attend. Good on him, I am proud he is my son who gives what little money he gets to charity.

I really must warn Luke when he gets out ,to avoid this strange ,obsessional, wee girl!!!!!

You are right Nugnug, most of the comments were very positive, it must have been hugely disappointing for Ms Divine! Ofcourse you will always get the ones who think prisoners should all be locked away 24hrs per day in a tiny wee box with no TV, radio or games box..............Mmmmmm, now what do we think would happen if that were the case.? ......Riots spring to mind and what it would do to their mental state and the ability to fit into society upon their release. These people who have these rediculous thoughts have absolutely no idea what it is like to loose your freedom, something we all take for granted. The fact their liberty has been deprived IS the punishment and until they have personal experience of that they should also think of the many, many people who are wrongly imprisoned because they are innocent!

Well, surprise, surprise!! I am just off the phone to Luke........Ms Amy Devine, has once again, been opening her mouth and letting her belly rumble. Luke was not "rocking out" at the concert.....he was working!

Note to Ms Devine............before you write FICTION.......check the FACTS......dear! Once again, you have written downright lies about my son, once again, you have proved to readers you just make it up as you go along ........to line your pockets..once again....you have proved what a ,pathetic excuse for a human being you are.
