Can I just say on this subject, anyone who plucked up the courage and came forward the first time and were never taken seriously by the police would not want to go through the same again.

Who can they now go to in strictest confidence?

I think that's a good point, it would indeed be understandable if people who came forward the first time don't want to go through the same thing again. Particularly if they felt pressured in any way when they did before but that's another reason why I think the case being accepted by the SCCRC makes a difference.

As it says on Luke's main site, anyone wishing make contact with information anonymously can do so by e-mailing Sandra. A link for doing so is on the top left of each page.

Great news on the SCCRC review.

Hope this is a small step down the road to the truth.

All the best to Corinne and Luke and all those who share the belief that this is a terrible miscarriage of justice.

Hi OldPal, and welcome to the forum.

Thank you for your kind message and yes, I do hope this is a small step in a very large miscarriage of Justice. Many people have said to me over the years " Corinne, the truth always comes out"........so here's hoping the truth is indeed going to come out and Jodis killer should start getting very nervous!

Welcome, Oldpal - good to have you on board. It's going to be another few days before I'm back to posting properly, but it's been really great to see all the messages of support. I'm in total agreement with Corinne here - there will be certain people getting distinctly twitchy now, and rightly so!

I'll hopefully be back sometime in the next week, meantime, keep up the good work guys!!

Thank you Sturisoma,

Yes, it may take some time and we have told ourselves to expect that but the fact they have agreed to review Lukes case is our first hurdle cleared! Thank God they answered so quickly.........I'd have no nails left!!!!!!! I know what you mean when you say HUGE GRIN.......all thursday night when I returned from the prison.....clutching that letter.... and reading it over and over.....I sat with an inane grin much to the confusion of Mia.....normallly after a visit I tend to be a bit down...it's the worst feeling for a mother to walk away from her child and watch him being led through a door knowing he is returning to a cell......Mia, ofcourse, took full advantage of my good mood and presented me with " squeaky chicken" to play with....if I want to watch something on TV Iv'e got to hide squeaky chicken in the fridge so she can't sniff it out!!!!

I digress, my apologies!.....if I post anything that may seem nonsense I apologise in advance!!!Sandra and I had a chuckle on the phone the other night as between us the constant flow of set backs and bad news....we pick ourselves up....give each other a kick up the backside and keep going.......when we get good news.......we fall apart and turn into basket cases!!!!!

So, everyone, please keep all your fingers and toes........and anything else crossable.........crossed!!!!!

You are well entitled to your moment Corinne after everything those incompetent idiots put you and your family through. It is the good moments that make the bad ones sink into insignificance.  When you know that you are correct it gives you that little bit more inner strength to keep on going.

I was talking to a couple the other day about fighting for justice in the workplace. They had been threatened with constructive dismissal by their employers because their manager and workmates were homophobic and were actively discriminating against them.  They were determined that they would fight it to the bitter end. Strange old world!

Back to subject, the SCCRC have a turnaround of 9 months currently so aim for end of May 2011.

Oh, while I remember, Luke has asked me to express his thanks to all of you who have taken an interest and support his case. And, if he does get his day in court he would love you all to join him........in the gallery obviously........not in the dock!!!!!

LOL.
Its a bit far for me to trek and I probably belong more in the dock than in the gallery anyway, but then again, so do all the reporters and virtually all those luminaries in the Scottish police and the Scottish justice system.

Belong more in the dock, is there something you'd like to confess? lol

I think its fair to say that Luke, Corinne and their family will have plenty of support if and when that day comes. You never know, it's a big case so we're not talking weeks, you might have decided to hop back across the pond by then Toth.
