I must admit this certain line of enquiry has indeed exhausted the subject and has shown the frailties of this particular series of events, however If the whole context of the case is taken this can and does pail into insignificance compared with the entirety of Luke's case.

When I take it from a personal perspective the MK involvement is very small and innocuous to say the least and it almost mirrors the problems the we are discussing about Luke's case. I suppose however that he still merits a mention to at least show just why he was not investigated but that's where its starts and stops for me.

I take your point, Mr. Healey. In the overall scheme of things, not much in and of itself, but still involving a real person to be taken into consideration. I can also see the parallels with a lot of the similar things that were said as propaganda against LM.

Perhaps if the BBC had the courage to air the documentary as it originally was rather than insist it was toned down before airing it, the whole MK/SF issue would have paled in significance to the rest but we'll never know unless they decide to broadcast it as it first was.

I wonder if BBC bosses ever considered that the original edit wasn't anti-police as such but instead it was simply revealing an incredibly flawed investigation from start to finish? Failure to follow up MK and exclude him properly being just one small part it. BBC axes 'biased' Mitchell documentary

Maybe now more of it is in the public domain they'd consider putting back in all the bits they took out. Maybe even change the title to something a bit more appropriate - 'Craig Dobbie - We did not have any positive pieces of evidence - Frontline asks why?' perhaps?

I had heard a while ago Billy that a new docu was indeed planned, is there anymore info on this as like has been stipulated it cannot come at a better time.

i cant see what there problem was they've made anti police documentaries before.

I would hope this docu isn't based on the anti police doctrine that has set in but more a factual and accomplished documentary about just how and why this case became insolvent in regards the evidence that was available to convict.

We all by now know the failings of the police and all authorities in regards to these case's of MoJ.s but in the end I feel they do start at the police but there is more than ample evidence to assume that there are far more authoritative bodies at work that make sure that these case,s go through without hindrance.

well its impossible to do a documentry about the case and put the police in a good light.

I'm not saying that mate just that its easier to highlight the inaccuracies without vilifying them totally and by alienating them completely. It just makes a stronger case.

but the police did nothing could put them in a good light thats not anti police bias thats just the facts of the case.

Look at the dates from 1/7/2003 and what Mandi, in particular has to say, as she publicly spreads the rumours she has heard, not from press articles, but according to her it is local gossip. This is a corker about Shane....."The brother is already in a psychiatric unit as he has in his past been linked with a woman being beaten and a dog being brutaly killed".  Another poster called Frankie who also claims to be a local made a comment about Luke.  A comment which I have made myself in the past, but not about Luke.

As for cavemanjoe, his type makes me so angry.

If this is the sort of c**p that the locals were hearing and then repeating their stories to others, then the locals (not all of them, just the gobshites) were just as bad as the press at passing on false information.

that could be people with a vested interest that has been very prolific on the internet.

Or they could be people who've mistaken their own "beliefs" for facts which should be taken into account by the "justice" system. That does seem to have happened more times than I can count in this case - by that I mean that this kind of thing was allowed to take hold of the police, Crown, judge and jury's imaginations.
